Lovely staff! Well located in town, the room was clean and the shared bathrooms as well!
Stayed here recently during the Great North Run, and highly recommend it. It is well managed with 24 hours reception service, clean and convenient. Less than 5 minutes walk from train station, with most facilities and attractions just walking distance. The staff is very helpful, responsive and friendly. All facilities are clean and well kept.
Very friendly place to stay. Excellent value for money if you don't mind hostals. Is very popular with backpackers and short stay visitors. My only problem was no toilets on 3rd floor where my room was. Nearest was on the 2nd, and with the hostel being able to gave 170+ guests, early morning queues are likely for showers and toilets. Very clean and tidy, with games, TV rooms. Free kitchen, just wash your pots. Free wifW too.
As expected really! Cheap, clean and very basic but very centrally located. 2 minutes walk from the train station. No toilets or showers in rooms and water pressure of the showers is atrocious but for 16 What else did I really expect. All in all not bad.
